Destroying Your Nightmares
When nightmares steal your sleep or interfere with your daily comfort, it's time to put a stop to them. Besides going to get medical help, try the power of prayer. Prayer is very powerful and effective for destroying nightmares. All you need is a little faith to make it happen. How can you accomplish this? The answer is that you have to develop an above normal prayer habit to get it started working for you in your sleep. Start by praying constantly so that your mind will not know if you are awake or asleep dreaming when you pray. (Your mind never sleeps.) Here is how to make this work for you.
You have to take prayer a step above the normal. In fact benefits come sooner if you take it to the excessive. The results and benefits will amaze you! Get started by praying for everything while awake to the point of being obsessed with it. Then you will find yourself praying during your sleep. It is that easy.
Here is proof. You may have had experiences like this before, where you did something in excessive to the point of dreaming about it. This is the same concept but for a good purpose! Whatever you do in an excessive mode while awake will spill over into your sleep. Then is when you realize that the comfort of prayer will comfort you even during normal dreams and more importantly when you have nightmares! You will find yourself praying in the middle of a nightmare because your mind thinks the events that terrify you are real and that you are awake. This prayer habit triggers on so you go into prayer mode even in your sleep. That will destroy your nightmares completely at their beginning! No more waking up in terror!
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.” (Mark 12:30)
Getting creative! Instead of enduring nightmare horrors, you can convert it into a joyous prayer and worship session! God will be so proud that you worship Him even in your sleep! How do you accomplish this, well you have to praise and worship joyfully while awake (maybe excessively at first) then it will spill over into your sleep!
I know this works by experience. I am no stranger of praying in my own sleep, so I highly recommend that you get started on this mission if you are overwhelmed with nightmares and want to destroy them before they rob anymore of your comfort. Treat it as a boot-camp of prayer and worship for the next 20 to 30 days in an effort to comply with the order above of what the Bible says in Mark 12:30. However it is not uncommon to benefit the first time you try it! I prayed in my sleep the first time it was suggested to me! (I was a young child then, can you imagine the possibilities of how this will help your children!) So I know that if you have trouble getting it started, take it to the excessive mode so you trigger prayer when you dream.
Here is what to do. Any time during the night you awaken for any reason, whether it is just to change positions, or on your way to get a drink of water, make the sign of the cross on yourself and softly and slowly start praying. Any prayer will do, I like The Lord’s Prayer, it works well. Pray until you fall asleep in the middle of praying. During the next 20 to 30 days beginning right now, pray. Pray before every meal, pray after every meal, pray as you walk alone from place to place, pray before you talk to someone, pray after you speak to someone, pray before you do anything like daily work or shores, pray before you go on the internet, pray before you drive somewhere, pray while you drive, pray when you shop for groceries, pray before you go to sleep, pray as soon as you wake up, use every available minute during the day to pray. Continue your prayer boot-camp for at least 20 to 30 days. You will be surprised at what will happen. God has a blessing waiting just for you. On top of that blessing, there will be comfort.
From now on, you will develop a heavy prayer habit and you will find it comforting and joyous too! Start by praying for any event of your life, whether it is major or minor, happy or sad, good news, or bad news, the result will be the same, blessings and comfort will fall upon you like never before. This comfort will follow every step of your life, even into your sleep! Take it from someone who is living proof of its result.
